5/13 “Putting on my Crown”

Once upon a time
I found a crown I never knew I had
Magic appeared from all around
When I placed it on my head
I closed my eyes and cried a tear
For every single minute
That I spent as a doorman for a palace
That was built for me to live in it

No one told me I was magic
So I didn’t think I had a choice
When you scream out loud and no one comes
You forget you even have a voice

It’s when I felt like I had been buried
With nothing but a straw for air
That I stumbled upon my self worth
And found my crown lying there
Under it I felt the endless sky
The energy of life around
The deep spirits of the rooted plants
Connected me to the ground
I felt the power of the sacred creatures
I saw the magic in the trees
Saturating me with cosmic knowledge
And housing rabbit holes of mysteries
I saw lifetimes of wisdom
All around me to be found
Where I found my inner goddess
And gave myself my crown.

The fifth installment in my “Empathy and the Evolution of Heartbreak” series. So many powerful emotions I had to put it in poetry 🖤
